Belly Beauty..

I don’t know if it’s the hormones going crazy or if it’s just me but I have been googling what people my size look like pregnant even though I know everyone is different I still can’t help myself.  I am scared to death I will not get a baby bump and that I will just look extra chunky. I put on about 45lbs that brought me up to 195.  That is where I have stayed for about a year now. I know that I will get over 200lbs with this little miracle and I have come to terms with that. I still want to stay active and not go crazy over board with gaining weight, I think that it’s unhealthy to gain to little and also unhealthy to gain to much, so I am hoping I will be in the middle someplace. The Website “the shape of a mother” has eased my mind a little, letting me see that “baby bumps” come in all shapes and sizes!  I always see the beauty in anything and anyone so in these hormonal times I have got to remember to see it in myself. My belly will be a thing of beauty no matter what happens because of what is growing inside it!

Our little baby is growing!

We are six weeks along and still in shock! Our baby’s heart actually started beating! We are anxious for February to hear that little heart!  Little eyes, arms, and legs are starting to form! He or she is about the size of a lentil. Although small the baby (or babies) keep me up most of the night going to the bathroom or tossing and turning to get comfy (it’s hard to get comfy these days!)

Grow little lentil Grow!!! :)

Stay Positive and baby dust to everyone!!

what a fetus looks like at six weeks!...hard to believe we all have looked like this!

Way in the back of my mind...

My sister has miscarried 5 of her children in the past two and half years. I have watched her struggles and feel for her deeply, we had hoped (are still hoping) we would be pregnant together but her last little one was lost this past November. Having someone so close miscarry so many times makes you realize sooner that YES it could happen to us just as it happens to 1000’s of others, but we don’t dwell on it or even think about it, yes it is in the far deep corner of my mind. I take precautions to keep our little one safe by eating right (when I am feeling well), not lifting heavy things, staying as stress free as possible, and relaxing.  Nothing I do though will stop it if it happens to us, My sister did everything and still at the 6 -7 week mark it happened and she could not control the out come. I have always been a positive person and believe in my heart that nothing will happen to this little bean. I don’t even think of “but what if it does” because there is no point worrying about that…for now we are enjoying every minute, every second and every day of being pregnant and will take any challenges as they come to us.

Stay Positive and baby dust to all!

Midwife?? OB?? or Family Doctor??

We had our first Doctors appointment yesterday and all went well! I got my first set of blood work done (wont know anything until next week) We found out that our family Doctor does not do deliveries  but can look after our prenatal care until around 20 weeks if needed and at that point she would either refer to a family Doc who does deliveries or an OB. (she also suggested a midwife but that is self referred and can be at anytime)  I know for sure that I am NOT interested in a home birth, but midwifes can work out of the hospital as well now. So many choices! We will have to look into them and see what one fits us best...but I am really hoping cookie, our youngest pup will know the answer when she wakes up! LOL

Cleaning out surprise :D

Well we were cleaning out our now “storage/office” room to make our up and coming nursery we came across something we had bought way back when we had just started talking about hearing the pitter patter of little feet! We didn’t even know if an IUI would work but we knew in our hearts that one day we would be having a baby. We forgot all about these little light switch covers and we were so excited to put them up!  I will post pictures of the finished nursery in a few more months.  Our chosen theme is gender neutral so it doesn’t matter the sex of the little one. My wife and I love sock monkeys and on our very first valentines together she bought me the hugest sock monkey I had ever seen it now will belong to our son or daughter!

One month pregnant!

I love every minute of my nausea and extreme fatigue, it lets me know that life is growing inside of me. The only down side is I really want to stay active during my pregnancy and feeling like a huge ball of crap everyday all day…puts a damper on getting up and out for exercise. Eating right is hard to, as I have zero appetite and when I do it doesn’t last long enough for me to enjoy the meal.
I have lost a total of 90lbs over the last 2 years and would love to stay in the normal weight gain for my pregnancy so that after the little monkey arrives it is easier for me to continue on my weight loss adventure with him/her or them LOL..you never know! I want to be able to keep up with a growing child that's for sure!

Stay positive and baby dust to everyone!  :)
